What Float Mount Is Available for My HD Metal Print?

A Float Mount allows an HD Metal Print to sit away from the wall, creating a clean, frameless appearance and the illusion that the artwork is floating.
Float Mounts are available for qualifying HD Metal Prints in any finish.
Quick Answer
Float Mounts are available for HD Metal Prints between 8" × 8" and 20" × 30".
The mount size is selected automatically according to the dimensions of your print.
Which Products Qualify?
Float Mounts are available for all finishes of HD Metal (White Gloss, White Satin, etc.)
The print must fall within the supported size range of 8" × 8" through 20" × 30".
Float Mount Sizes
Float Mounts are produced in three sizes.

How Is the Mount Size Selected?
You do not need to choose between Small, Medium, and Large when placing your order.
Our system assigns the appropriate mount according to the dimensions of your HD Metal Print.
For example:
- A 12" × 18" print receives a Small Float Mount
- A 16" × 24" print receives a Medium Float Mount
- A 20" × 30" print receives a Large Float Mount
Has the Small Float Mount Changed?
Yes.
We recently updated the style of Float Mount used on smaller HD Metal Prints.
The backing on a new small print may look different from:
- Float Mounts received on previous orders
- Mounts used on larger prints
- Older product photographs or examples
Although the construction may look different from the back, it is designed to provide the same secure installation and floating presentation when viewed from the front.
Will All of My Prints Have the Same Backing?
Not necessarily.
The backing style and dimensions may vary depending on the size of the print. A smaller HD Metal Print may therefore have a different-looking Float Mount than a medium or large print.
The mount is positioned behind the artwork and is generally not visible once the print is installed.
Can I Request a Different Mount Size?
Mount sizes are matched to the dimensions and weight of the finished print.
A different Float Mount size generally cannot be selected simply for appearance. If you have a specific installation requirement, contact Customer Support before placing your order so we can review the request.
What If My Size Does Not Qualify?
If the Float Mount option does not appear while creating your order, the selected print dimensions may be outside the supported range.
You may need to:
- Select a different print size
- Choose another available mounting option
- Contact Customer Support for assistance
