If you've ever tried ordering a large print, you've probably heard someone ask, "Is the resolution high enough?"


Resolution is one of the most misunderstood concepts in digital photography. Many people assume it refers to how many megapixels a camera has or a number hidden in the file's properties. In reality, resolution is about how much image detail is available for the size you want to print.


Understanding resolution will help you choose appropriate print sizes, avoid blurry enlargements, and get the best possible results from your photos.
