Why Won't My Photo Upload?

Why Won't My Photo Upload?

Updated June 2026 • 6 minute read
If you're having trouble uploading your image, don't worry—most upload issues can be resolved in just a few minutes.
This guide covers the most common reasons an image may not upload and the steps you can take to get your order moving again.

Quick Checklist

Before trying again, check the following:
✅ Your file is one of our supported formats.
✅ Your file is 1 GB or smaller.
✅ You have a stable internet connection.
✅ You're using an up-to-date web browser.
If everything looks correct and the upload still won't complete, continue through the troubleshooting steps below.

My Upload Is Stuck at 0%

If the upload never starts, it's usually caused by one of the following:

  • Internet connection interrupted
  • Browser issue
  • Unsupported file
  • Browser extension blocking uploads

Try This

  • Refresh the page.
  • Restart your browser.
  • Try uploading again.
  • If possible, try a different browser.

My Upload Freezes Partway Through

Large image files may take several minutes to upload depending on your internet connection.
If the progress bar stops moving for an extended period:

  • Wait a few more minutes.
  • Avoid refreshing the page while the upload is in progress.
  • Check that your internet connection is stable.
  • Try uploading again.

My File Is Too Large

Our uploader currently accepts files up to:
1 GB per image
If your file exceeds this limit:

  • Export a slightly smaller version of the image.
  • Reduce unnecessary layers (when applicable).
  • Contact our support team if you need assistance with a particularly large project.

Unsupported File Type

Artbeat Studios currently accepts:

  • JPG / JPEG
  • TIFF / TIF
  • PNG
  • HEIC

If your file is another format, export it as one of the supported file types before uploading.

My Image May Be Corrupted

Occasionally, an image file becomes damaged or incomplete.
Signs include:

  • The image won't open on your computer.
  • Only part of the image appears.
  • The upload repeatedly fails.
  • The file behaves differently than other images.

If possible, locate the original image and try uploading that version instead.

Mobile Upload Problems

If you're uploading from a phone or tablet:

  • Make sure you've granted your browser permission to access your photos.
  • Ensure you have a stable Wi-Fi or cellular connection.
  • Keep your browser open until the upload finishes.

Modern iPhone photos saved as HEIC files are fully supported.

Drag-and-Drop Isn't Working

If dragging your file into the upload area doesn't work:

  • Click the Upload Image button instead.
  • Browse to your file manually.
  • Select the image from your device.

Both methods upload the same file.

Browser Compatibility

For the best experience, we recommend using the latest version of a modern browser such as:

  • Google Chrome
  • Safari
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Mozilla Firefox

Older browsers or outdated software may not support all upload features.

My Internet Connection Is Slow

Large, high-resolution images require more time to upload.
If you're on a slower connection:

  • Upload one image at a time.
  • Avoid running large downloads during the upload.
  • Stay connected until the upload completes.

Nothing Is Working

If you've tried the steps above and still can't upload your image:

This information helps us diagnose the issue much more quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I email my image instead?

For most orders, we recommend using the website uploader whenever possible.
If you're unable to upload your file after troubleshooting, you may uploaded a place holder screenshot. Please note that the resolution matrix will not be accurate to the replacement image as it will be calculated based off the screenshot. IMPORTANT: To do this, you MUST leave a note on the order that this is a placeholder image. Skipping this step will result in production of the lower resolution file.

Will uploading again create a duplicate order?

No.
Uploading your image again does not create an order until you complete the checkout process.

Will refreshing the page delete my upload?

If the upload is already in progress, refreshing the page may interrupt it.
Whenever possible, allow the upload to finish before leaving or refreshing the page.

Our Recommendation

Most upload issues are related to browser settings, internet connectivity, or unsupported files and can be resolved quickly using the steps above.
If you're still having trouble, don't spend time fighting with the uploader—we're here to help. Contact our support team, and we'll work with you to get your artwork uploaded and your order underway as quickly as possible.
